For a few months now, we have been hearing about the Coronavirus as something happening completely removed from our day-to-day lives. We made plans, many of you welcomed college student’s home for Spring Break, and we went about normal life in the Pine Grove Area. Then, about a week ago, everything went a little sideways. I do not have to remind you of the specifics of how most every detail of our lives seemed to come to a screeching halt.
What has all of this made you think and feel?
If we were talking face to face, that would be my question for you. Followed by, “How are your processing those thoughts and feelings?” Then, “How are you helping those around you process those thoughts and feelings?”
Whether your thoughts and feeling lean more toward frustration that this is all a bunch of hype, more toward feelings of fear for yourself or your loved ones, or you are shifting from one of those thought patterns to the other everyone is wrestling in some way with finding peace in the middle of this. Now, to top it off, we are losing the benefits of the community in helping us to navigate it. Even while much is being funneled our way, telling us what to think!!
Let Us Remind Ourselves of Truth
Here is one thing we can be thankful for: God has provided us a way of connecting and learning online during this time when we cannot meet face to face. In the coming weeks, we hope to lean into this means of communication. It can never replace face to face, but we are praying that God can use it to remind us of Who He is and What He says He will do, and what He says He wants us to do.
Today: I encourage you to put this “sticky” song in your mind. It reminds us of what we believe. That’s pretty important because what we believe changes what we feel and ultimately what we do.
Remember the words to “We Believe”
We Believe
In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only one foundation
We believe, we believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only one salvation
We believe, we believe
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s comin’ back again, we believe
So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, we believe
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s comin’ back again
Let the lost be found and the dead be raised
In the here and now, let love invade
Let the church live love our God will see
We believe, we believe
And the gates of hell will not prevail
For the power of God, has torn the vail
Now we know Your love will never fail
We believe, we believe
We believe in God the Father
We believe in Jesus Christ
We believe in the Holy Spirit
And He’s given us new life
We believe in the crucifixion
We believe that He conquered death
We believe in the resurrection
And He’s comin’ back
He’s comin’ back again
He’s comin’ back again
We believe
We believe
